Artec 3D Releases Artec Twins for Large-Scale Scan Data
The platform combines point clouds, meshes and Gaussian Splatting while merging large datasets from multiple capture methods.

3D Printing Industry reported on October 23, 2026 that Artec 3D had released Artec Twins, a processing and analysis platform for scans of large environments. Artec’s official announcement is dated October 8. Developed initially for the Artec Jet, the software expands that workflow to combine data from Artec scanners, smartphones, drones, aircraft and satellites in one project.
Artec Twins works with point clouds, meshes and Gaussian Splats. Its tools include distance maps, cross-sections, volume calculations, primitive fitting, measurements on fused models and georeferencing. Projects can be exported in E57, LAS/LAZ, common mesh and Gaussian Splatting formats. Processing is local, and the intended applications include monitoring, inspection and surveying in construction, infrastructure, mining and public safety.
Artec says the platform can render point clouds containing billions of points at up to 200 frames per second without decimation or latency, while keeping environments of 100 km² or more interactive. These are manufacturer claims. The source does not provide an independent benchmark with defined CPU, GPU, memory and dataset conditions, and absolute accuracy in a multi-sensor project will depend on the capture hardware and registration workflow.
