Kingston University installs Rapid Fusion Zeus hybrid AM-CNC cell
Rapid Fusion says it has installed a £450,000 Zeus robotic cell at Kingston University, combining large-format pellet extrusion with CNC milling. The company describes it as the system’s first university installation.

Rapid Fusion’s Zeus combines a pellet extruder and CNC milling on a KUKA robotic arm in one hybrid manufacturing cell. The £450,000 system has been installed in Kingston University’s Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment.
The reported configuration adds a Zivid industrial scanning camera and ENCY robotic CAD/CAM software to link scanning, toolpath generation, additive deposition and finish machining. The first-university-installation designation and claims about fewer secondary operations and maintained tolerances come from Rapid Fusion; no independent post-installation performance assessment is presented.
