Prusa Releases 400°C HT Hotend for CORE One+ and L+
Prusa Research has released a quick-swap HT Hotend for the CORE One+ and L+ with a maximum temperature of 400°C, while the printers’ 60°C chamber remains a constraint for some advanced polymers.

Prusa Research has released the HT Hotend for the CORE One+ and CORE One L+. According to the company’s October 21, 2026 blog post, the quick-swap unit reaches a maximum nozzle temperature of 400°C and can be changed in under a minute. It is sold as an upgrade and can also be factory-installed on a CORE One L+. It is not compatible with the INDX tool-changing system.
Prusa reports internal interlayer-adhesion gains above 300°C of 23% for PA11 Carbon Fiber, 18% for ASA, and 7% each for PC Blend and PC Blend Carbon Fiber. The launch also adds HighTemp build sheets for the CORE One+/L+ and three materials to Prusa’s shop: PPS-CF, PPS-GF and PPA-CF Core.
A 400°C nozzle makes PPSU, PEKK, PEEK and PEI potential candidates, but Prusa identifies the printers’ 60°C chamber as a limiting factor and does not promise reliable large-part printing with them. The company recommends filtration or external exhaust because high-temperature polymers can emit hazardous fumes. The adhesion figures are manufacturer test results; the article does not provide full test conditions or independent validation.
Key facts
- Designed for CORE One+ and L+ with a maximum nozzle temperature of 400°C.
- Swaps in under a minute but is not compatible with INDX.
- Prusa reports interlayer-adhesion gains of 23% for PA11 CF, 18% for ASA and 7% for PC Blend variants.
- The 60°C chamber limits some high-temperature materials.
Context
The upgrade broadens the range of high-temperature materials accessible on existing CORE One+/L+ machines, but a 400°C nozzle alone does not guarantee reliable PEEK-class printing; chamber temperature and fume handling still matter.
