Nikon AM to Supply Two-Meter Metal AM Systems for a U.S. Defense Program
Multiple NXG-E-based L-PBF systems customized for a two-meter build height will support prototyping and production scale-up for Tomahawk mid-bodies and similar parts.

Nikon Advanced Manufacturing has received a U.S. defense COTA contract to supply multiple customized metal L-PBF systems with a two-meter build height. Based on the NXG-E platform, they target Tomahawk Land Attack Missile mid-bodies and similar parts.
The program will run at Nikon AM's Technology Center in Long Beach, California, where the machines will support prototyping and production-capacity scale-up. It sits under the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment framework.
This is an equipment-development and delivery award, not confirmation that operational missile parts have entered mass production. Contract value, machine count, delivery schedule, and qualification results were not disclosed.
Key facts
- The customized systems have a two-meter build height
- Multiple systems are based on the NXG-E platform
- Work will support prototyping and scale-up in Long Beach
