3DPrint.com reported on November 1, 2026, from L.A. Comic Con, held October 30 to November 1 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Snapmaker’s booth displayed work selected from its community Cosplay & Costume Model Design Contest and demonstrated the Snapmaker U1, a printer equipped with four independent toolheads.

The report says Snapmaker also scheduled free repair sessions for helmets, armor, props, and other costume parts that broke or loosened during the convention. The company served as presenting sponsor of the Cosplay National Championship, which offered $25,000 across three divisions. On Halloween, makers and cosplayers joined a panel on multi-material 3D printing for costumes and props.

Snapmaker says the U1’s four independent toolheads can combine multiple colors or different materials in one project. This was event coverage, however, not an independent comparison of speed, tool changes, material compatibility, or print quality. The on-site repair service is notable because it presented desktop 3D printing not only as a production method for finished costumes, but also as maintenance support during a demanding live event.
