3DPrint.com reported on October 22, 2026 that Formlabs had launched the Form Studio 1 desktop MSLA printer starting at US$699. Formlabs announced the machine on October 14, opened worldwide ordering, and scheduled global shipments to begin November 16. The base price includes the printer, a resin tank and a standard build platform.

The build volume is 200 × 125 × 235 mm with a 35 µm pixel size. Its Low Force Display architecture uses 28 LEDs and a custom lens array, while cartridges automatically dispense and heat resin. Six Alpha Resins start at US$29 per liter, and Open Material Mode allows third-party materials. Formlabs says most print jobs finish in under two hours.

The company’s 98% print-success figure comes from internal testing, and final reliability testing for Form Studio 1 is still underway. UL GREENGUARD Gold certification applies only when the printer is used with Alpha Resins and the optional VOC Extractor; it does not remove the need for gloves, ventilation, washing and post-curing procedures. Independent hardware comparisons are still needed to establish how its convenience and output differ from similarly priced machines from Chinese manufacturers.
