Stentra is a prescription device customized to a patient’s oral anatomy to immobilize or displace the tongue and jaw during head-and-neck radiotherapy. The clinical team performs an optical intraoral scan in about 10–15 minutes, after which Kallisio handles design, approval, SLS production and quality checks. Nanjixiong reports that the material is biocompatible nylon.
Kallisio states that Stentra is FDA-cleared and can be delivered in as little as 72 hours after the required prescription and scan data are received. Four configurations move the tongue down, up, left or right. Clinical benefit and side-effect reduction depend on the patient and treatment plan; this article does not guarantee an individual outcome.
