HORKOS and Meltio Launch NX70 DUO Version AM Hybrid Machine
The hybrid machine integrates Meltio wire-laser metal DED with HORKOS’s NX70 1510B, allowing deposition and precision cutting to alternate in one setup.

HORKOS and Meltio have announced the NX70 DUO version AM, a hybrid machine based on HORKOS’s NX70 1510B. The October 22, 2026 article published by AM Insight Asia is a company press release. It says the system combines Meltio wire-laser metal DED with HORKOS precision cutting so additive and subtractive steps can alternate without changing setups.
According to the announcement, the process uses welding wire for complex part production, repair, remanufacturing and prototyping. Closed impellers are cited as an example where limited tool access makes the combined process useful. The machine also incorporates HORKOS’s Non Bed Structure and water-soluble iMQL system. One unit has reportedly been sold to an unnamed industrial customer.
HORKOS plans to show the machine at JIMTOF 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight, booth E2001, from October 26–31, with a dry run and video of actual printing. Claims about labor savings, floor space, environmental impact and fewer transfers come from the companies; the release provides no comparative data on accuracy, throughput or supported materials.
Key facts
- Built on the HORKOS NX70 1510B with Meltio wire-laser metal DED and precision machining.
- Additive and subtractive operations can alternate within one machine setup.
- The companies report one unit sold to an unnamed industrial customer.
- A dry run and printing video are scheduled for JIMTOF 2026.
Context
Combining metal DED and machining could broaden process options for repair and complex parts, but operating data is still needed to validate performance and deployment benefits.
